For this theme, I first envisioned a summer night on a roof-top in the heart of downtown San Diego, but then I found another venue that was much more romantic and intimate for a proposal setting.
This Midnight Summer engagement took place at the Handlery Hotel when I then came up with a new story line. Yes, I went as far as coming up with a storyline.
This couple really enjoys traveling and being spontaneous yet since they met in San Diego, they choose to have a little stay-cation to enjoy the beautiful adventures in their own neighborhood.
Since the Handlery Hotel is conveniently close to the hotel he asked her to go shopping and pick out something nice for dinner. He then secretly set up the beautiful courtyard for his special proposal while she was out shopping.
The entire garden was enveloped with romantic candlelight and lanterns leading up to the sweetheart table where he will propose.
In addition to the all the sparkling lights, the color of the deep navy blue and champagne left this quart yard with a bold yet very romantic statement.
and when he did propose...
..."She Said YES!"
Everything was beautifully executed and I could not thank my vendors and venue enough for all their help and support throughout this whole process. Being able to get everything together the day of and still executing my vision was such an accomplishment in itself. Being that this was only a mock proposal, my team of vendors and I still treated this styled shoot as if it were a real proposal and made the day happen. The colors and the theme was a huge success in creating a romantic celebration between two people who fell in love!
