"Love Grows Here"
This lovely couple has such a beautiful unique story and it was an honor to have met them both!
Whitney and Josh first met in Boston, Massachusetts where Josh was farming and Whitney was in graduate school. They then started their mini family and moved to New Orleans where they soon fell in love with the culture of their new adopted city.
"Josh and I met while I was a graduate student in Boston and he was farming up there. We both moved to New Orleans and love the culture of our adopted city. In New Orleans spirit we’d like to have a second line at the wedding! I’m a literacy coach at a public charter school and he is an organic farmer that works with adults with developmental disabilities. We both like traveling, cooking and learning about new cultures."
Even though they were living in New Orleans, Whitney and Josh chose to have their beautiful destination wedding in sunny San Diego, where they could be close to all their family and friends!
They chose to have their destination wedding at the most romantic and rustic venue in SD, Bernardo Winery!
Both the bride and Groom love to cook, travel and learn new cultures around the world. The Bride, Whitney is a literacy coach at the Public Charter School and the Groom, Josh, is an Organic Farmer that works with adults that have developmental disabilities.
It was no wonder they were simply perfect for each other! These two love birds have such beautiful souls and wanted to share their love with everyone on their wedding day.
They brought so many of unique and creative touches to their wedding celebration!
As you can see, even their sweetheart table was so special and uniquely them!
Instead of using a traditional unity candle they chose to use the soil from Josh's farm in a form of unifying their marriage.
Oh! and can we talk about how adorable and creative these escort cards are!!!
These were custom made heart-shaped lockets that were individually laser with each guests name. This is a super cute and personable way to not only have guests find their seats but also as a favor to take home in remembrance of a great celebration!
But they did not stop the creativity there! Since they were from New Orleans they must keep up with tradition! So they to brought some of the NOLA traditions to their SD wedding!
They chose to do a 2nd Line for a wedding!!
*For those who are not familiar with the 2nd line traditions here is a quick history lesson!
The 2nd line is this largely popular tradition where the main line leading the parade for a wedding is made up of the married couple, the brass band and usually a grand marshal (if their is one) and the followed wedding guests is the second line. The tradition is mainly for the bride and Groom to celebrate their new life together as one!
This super sweet and humbling couple gives so much to others it was time for them to finally celebrate their journey together as one!
